Gallery Mugen is having a party on Saturday, December 7th, from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. to ring in the holiday season. There’ll be hot mulled wine, not one but two kiln firings’ worth of new work from Akira, gorgeous holiday wear and gift items from BZDesign, and festive Yuzu Patisserie sweets to sample and purchase. Here’s a taste of what to expect:
Fukubukuro, or “Good Fortune Bags”. Fukubukuro is a holiday tradition in Japan -- stores offer mystery bags with secret contents for sale, customers take their chances as to what “good fortune” they will discover within. Mugen will offer mystery parcels which include selected ceramic work by Akira and treats from Yuzu Patisserie. Only six will be available. First come, first served!
At 1:00 Akira will conduct a tea tasting, featuring a “tea flight” of his personal recommendations. You’re invited to sample varieties and flavors you’ve never tried before and perhaps discover a new favorite. Dobra Teashop teas will be featured.
If you enjoy Akira’s musical stylings, be sure to be at Mugen by 3:30 for an in- house concert. There’s a rumor that the banjo and shamisen performance may include a special surprise guest (or two)!
So, come on down and help us celebrate -- we look forward to seeing you on the 7th!
